Last Monday, Sports Illustrated announced the results of a player poll they held about the Biggest Phony in Baseball. Obviously, we all know who was going to be #1: Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez getting 26% of the vote. However, in second, with 14% of the vote, was his teammate, Nick Swisher in what shocked most people, including myself. Sure, Nick is smiling whenever you see a picture of him, but that doesn't mean it's fake. There have been many pictures that have been taken over 50 feet away where Swish wasn't even looking and he would be smiling like heck! Also, Nick has used his "real" positive energy to give back to others. In fact, just a few years ago, he recorded a charity album with a children's choir and donated all the profit to the charity. Overall, I think all other MLB players are "phonies" for voting for Swish and not themselves!
