Rick Nash

Recently, there has been much talk about the Columbus Blue Jackets trading star forward Rick Nash. However, Jackets General Manager Scott Howson said in a recent statement that the Columbus organization wanted "an established NHL forward(s)"in any possible trade for Rick Nash. One of the main teams in the talk for Nash is the New York Rangers. New York has talked about trading left wing Brandon Dubinsky, who had an off-season in 2012, and defenseman Michael Del Zotto, who of course is now out of the question. Of course, Dubinsky isn't the best forward in the NHL, so the Blueshirts would have to give up another forward. I would hate to see it happen, but the Rangers may give up Mike Rupp. Rupp had a great season with New York last year having the best year of all the Ranger "goons." He most certainly came up in the clutch, scoring 2 important goals against Philadelphia in last year's Winter Classic. However, he is definitely an established forward, playing a big part in the Devils Stanley Cup run of 2003. It may come at a big price, but New York needs a scorer like Nash, which they proved in the playoffs last season, only scoring 46 goals in 20 games. Overall, it may be a good idea to add Mike Rupp in the Nash-Dubinsky trade.
